Benalmadena’s branch of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) will host its Summer Charity Dinner 2026 on Friday, September 11, at Holiday World Resort Beach Club.
More than 200 guests are expected from 8.30pm, with backing from Benalmadena Town Hall. Tickets cost €100 per person and must be bought by 8pm on 9 September.
Councillor Maria Luisa Robles Salas joined AECC Benalmadena president Alfredo Herrera and Holiday World Resort Polynesia director Jorge Saez Cordo at the launch. Robles celebrated the branch’s year-round work with patients and families and asked locals to get behind the night.
Herrera said takings from evenings like this keep free support running for people living with cancer and those looking after them.
Open-air dinner, live music and the Constancia 2026 prize
A welcome cocktail starts the evening, followed by an outdoor dinner, live music and a few extras the organisers are keeping quiet for now. Confirmed acts include singer Yamilet Avalos and saxophonist Rafa Saxo.
Later on, the Constancia 2026 Award will go to a person or organisation that has given lasting backing to the association. Who collects it will only be named at the table.
Business owners and council representatives are expected in the room
Online sales run through the AECC’s official charity events site. You can also buy in person at the Benalmadena office by calling 951 539 410.
If you want a seat, do not leave it until the last minute. Places are limited, and the cut-off is Tuesday, September 9, at 8pm. That said, experience of previous years, it will no doubt be open longer.
AECC has spent 70 years on prevention, care for patients and families, and funding research. Nationwide it currently puts €104 million into 565 research projects involving more than 1,000 scientists. Volunteers number over 30,000, members more than 500,000, and staff close to 1,000 across more than 2,000 Spanish towns and cities. In 2023 it helped 140,595 people affected by cancer.
This branch already raises cash on the Costa del Sol through golf days and other local drives, while pink-ribbon events and expat fundraisers keep the same cause in view. Benalmadena’s wider charity calendar also includes community nights such as the recent charity walk.
