The event kicks off on Saturday, June 20, at the Millennium Highway, adjacent to the Sol gas station, starting at 7:00 a.m.
Athletes will compete in the Individual Time Trial Road Race, featuring juniors and elites tackling a challenging 24km distance, which includes a special Under-17 segment covering 16km.
On Sunday, June 21, at 8:00 a.m., the spotlight shifts to the Road Race, with cyclists taking on 104km for juniors and elites, while the Under-17 category will cover 80km and Under-15 riders will race for 48km.
The Saint Lucia National Cycling Championships, typically held on the weekend of June 20 and 21, align with major cycling events across the Caribbean.
This championship weekend features two intense competitions for the island’s elite riders:
– Individual Time Trial (ITT): A demanding solo race against the clock.
– Road Race: An endurance-focused, multi-lap race on challenging terrain.
The primary racecourses generally involve a multi-loop circuit on the Millennium Highway in Castries. The event attracts a highly competitive field across multiple divisions, including:
