For the second tour in succession, it looks like there will be no North East gigs in Oasis' diary for next year. And that's because a leaked list of the band's 2027 dates, includes as grand total of 23 shows, but none of them are either in Newcastle or Sunderland . It was last summer that there was excitement for lovers of the Britpop legends in the region, when St James' Park appeared on not one, but two lists of what were purported to be dates for Oasis' next massive stadium tour, following the record-breaking success of their 2025 comeback, when an estimated 4 million people tried to get tickets. A year on, it looks like the St James' links were fake, however another glimmer of hope for Oasis playing the North East arrived earlier this week, when the band shared a teased video ahead of an imminent big announcement, which featured a poster with 'SOL FM' on the wall. It took no time at all for fans who saw the clip on social media to believe that 'SOL' was a no so subtle reference to the Stadium of Light and that must have mean that the Stadium of Light was one of the venues for the Oasis 2027 tour. That was followed by another video on Friday afternoon, which seemed to firm up the rumours that the proud Mancunians would be playing 12 nights at Man City's ground the Etihad Stadium.
