Georgia’s financial sector has gained a new commercial bank. By an order of National Bank of Georgia President Natia Turnava, JSC Neo Georgian Group has been granted a banking license.
The number of entities holding banking licenses in Georgia has consequently increased to 20.
Based on Public Registry and the company’s founding documents, the newly licensed bank has issued capital of GEL 61.3 million, fully paid in cash and meeting the minimum requirements established by law. The company has issued 100,000 ordinary shares, each with a nominal value of GEL 613.
JSC Georgian First Digital Group owns 100% of JSC Neo Georgian Group. The sole owner of Georgian First Digital Group is Latvian citizen Juris Leonenko.
The new bank’s management team has already been formed. Juris Leonenko serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, with Grigory Morchiladze as his deputy. Tamar Tkeshelashvili is the third member of the Supervisory Board.
Kakhaber Kodua has been appointed General Director, Teona Giorgobiani serves as Financial Director, and Lasha Mazanashvili will head risk management.
Under its approved charter, Neo Georgian Group will provide a full range of banking and financial services. The bank will attract deposits, provide consumer, mortgage and commercial loans, issue payment cards and offer online payment services.
In addition to standard banking products, the institution plans to develop services related to the conversion, transfer and custody of virtual assets, in line with National Bank regulations.
