In this news:
Paul LePage, recent resident of Florida, is trying once again to inflict his version of government on Mainers and the nation. A look at his campaign website is instructive.
LePage promises to “work to eliminate wasteful spending which drove up inflation.” Does he mean the Iran war or Trump’s trade wars which have reignited inflation in the grocery store and at the gas pump?
He promises to “defend constitutional liberty,” which seems to be about guns and not the war against free speech and voting which the Trump administration is currently waging against Americans.
LePage says he is for “supporting innovation and freedom” and calls cryptocurrency a “new frontier of economic freedom.” What is crypto anyway? The only people benefiting from crypto these days are the ones who take a commission on trades, not those investing in it. Just ask the Trump boys.
Finally, LePage promises to defend Medicare but ignores the 90,000 people to whom he denied health insurance by refusing to expand MaineCare when it passed in the Legislature and in a people’s referendum.
Don’t be fooled by Paul LePage. Vote for Matt Dunlap to be our next congressman from the 2nd District. He will fight for healthcare for all, universal childcare and work to insure billionaires pay their fair share of taxes.
