Revision
I have delved into fear and fun, represented in both artworks, with the fun of the adolescents and fear of the elders emerging.

Response 1
idk man it looks like he's touching the cup to me and he doesn't look like he's gained much
Response 2
What about this specific point makes you think that?
Do the other areas of the Masquerade create a sense of a lack of choice?
Response 3
Feels quite uncontrolled to me - the suffering of those on the ground, next to stockpiles of fruits, veg, and meats contrasting those up in the trees, swinging from branch to branch.
The most controlled part is the 2 white, calm center figures.
Observation
"Spooky, scary skeletons
Send shivers down your spine
Shrieking skulls will shock your soul
Seal your doom tonight
Spooky, scary skeletons
Are silly all the same
They'll smile and scrabble slowly by
And drive you so insane
Sticks and stones will break your bones
They seldom let you snooze
Spooky, scary skeletons
Will wake you with a boo!"
