Toshizou the Yearner

About Chimpers

The scar that splits Toshizou’s brow speaks of a flawless defeat, but their eyes tell you they loved every second of it. Their rival, a master of the high-altitude winds, is the author of both the scar and the gleeful anticipation it failed to erase. They meet beneath the city’s purple-hued sky, their duels a dance of water and air that sends cherry blossoms scattering through the bamboo groves. The injury that necessitated the carved cane was a masterpiece of speed and force, a lesson Toshizou took with a breathless laugh. The rival had won, but the gap between them had never felt so thrillingly small. Since then, Toshizou doesn't just walk by the river; they study its unceasing push. They yearn not for revenge, but for the next lesson, the next challenge. Every cold wind that cuts between the buildings feels like a promise.
