Shiraha the Releasing

About Chimpers

Three nights after the execution of the Grove Keeper, Shiraha understood the gilded spires of The Teikodian Empire were just polished cages. They had believed in the grandeur, the blinding sun that masked the rot. A charming word, a shared drink—it was easy to be liked in the capital, and even easier to ignore the chill rising from the dungeons. But the Grove Keeper wasn't a traitor; their only crime was planting a wild blossom that defied the Emperor's perfect garden. For that, they were silenced. In that quiet, Shiraha found a new calling. The charm is still their key, but the war paint they wear in the shadows is their truth. They don't free prisoners for glory. They do it for the faint click of an undone lock, for the sharp gasp of a first free breath in the cold night. Each soul they set free is a quiet apology to the one they could not save.
