About Chimpers
Kobunrou swore an oath to Tokumei to be nameless and unseen, yet one person in the high city knows their true face by heart. The price for their service was identity; to walk among the Annonites meant donning the kamen mask and becoming a whisper on the cold winds that whip through the bamboo-lined streets. They chose this path to shield the one they loved from a creeping shadow only Tokumei's followers could fight. They surrendered their name and their past, but could not surrender one small ritual. On nights when the sky is the hue of a deep plum, Kobunrou leaves a single, perfectly toasted marshmallow on a familiar balcony overlooking the river. It is a memory of shared stories by a campfire before the mask became their skin. The offering is always gone by morning, a silent acknowledgment across a chasm of duty.
