Illuminoflora Luminescens, from Latin 'illumino' (to illuminate) and 'flora' (plant), is a bioluminescent flowering species in the Aurelia Petalina cluster, family Aureliaceae, genus Aurelia. It features delicate, translucent petals in multiple radial layers with visible vein networks, emitting a bluish glow (450-495 nm). Yellow pollen-laden stamens punctuate the petals, contrasting with the luminescence. Slender, flexible stems enable swaying in its native tropical rainforest canopy habitat at 20-50 cm height, thriving in humid, shaded conditions between 20-30°C. Bioluminescence, from luciferin-luciferase localized in petal epidermis, likely attracts nocturnal pollinators like moths and beetles. Among 10 species in its cluster, it sustains a rare but stable population, playing a crucial role in nocturnal pollination and ecosystem health.
