Armenia and Georgia sign MoU on financial sector cooperation

The Central Bank of Armenia and the National Bank of Georgia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the financial sector, aimed at strengthening the stability of the two countries’ financial systems, enhancing transparency and resilience in the financial sector, and protecting the legitimate interests of depositors and investors, the Central Bank of Armenia informs.
The memorandum establishes procedures for the exchange of information between the two institutions on financial sector regulation and supervision. It also provides for cooperation in the licensing and supervision of financial institutions, market conduct and consumer protection, competition, crisis management, payment systems, securities markets, crypto-asset services, financial technologies, monetary policy and other areas.
The memorandum is expected to provide a solid foundation for effective information and experience sharing between the central banks of Armenia and Georgia, as well as for the implementation of joint initiatives.
