Katie Price says Lee Andrews 'scammed my heart' as his voicenote from jail plays on GMB

Katie Price has spoken about her relationship and split from Lee Andrews during an interview on Good Morning Britain today. The former glamour model appeared on the ITV daytime programme today, Wednesday, 16 September, to speak to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, just weeks after her split from Lee . The couple had been in a whirlwind romance earlier this year, marrying in January after meeting just a week prior. However, their relationship took a turn when allegations against Lee emerged. After eight months, Katie, 48, said she dumped Lee over WhatsApp after “the final straw” came when she allegedly discovered he only had £2.22 in his crypto wallet, not the millions he claimed to have. Lee, who failed to appear on GMB when invited months ago for a joint interview with Katie, sent a voicenote from a 'civil jail' in Dubai, in which he claimed that Katie had been checking the wrong bank account. He claimed he had been "thrown under the bus" and told Good Morning Britain: "Katie's actually called me a liar on many occasions. That's because she's been looking at or taking information from third parties because she's not very crypto savvy. So obviously she gave my information out, and the story was sold, which I was not happy about. "I don't think you should do that to your husband. I've got my own issues obviously and my own thoughts on everything, but I'll never stop loving Katie." He also said he was "due out of jail very soon" and that things had been "taken out of context". He insisted: "I do have funds in my wallet," and vowed to "back that up on a lie detector". After listening to the voicenote, Katie told Susanna and Ed: "It is exhausting, and I'm sitting here listening, shaking my head because where do I start?” She went on: “As everyone knows, I’ve never been with a man with money, with me, it’s never been about going with a man with money. I’m self-made and I have my own money. And with Lee, it’s never been about the money.” She continued: “He hasn’t scammed me for money, but I feel he scammed me because he fabricated a person that doesn’t exist.” She insisted that she did fall in love with Lee, saying: “We get on, he’s intelligent, we have fun.” However, she claimed, it was him talking about the “millions” he had coming. Going back to the start of their relationship, before Katie flew to Dubai, she said Lee showed her images of a big house but she told him that she didn’t care if he had money or not. “For the whole nine months, it’s been, ‘I do crypto and have this money coming in,’ I’ve heard it for nine months. “Then he sent me the wallet so I could see, I’m so rubbish online. While I was away in Marbella, there were a couple I’ve known for years, he does crypto himself. I said, Lee’s sent me all of this, I don’t know how to get in the wallet to see it… because Lee keeps saying, ‘I’ve got 50m, I’m going to give you some millions, give my dad some millions,’ and I’m like, ‘You don’t have to,’ and he said, ‘Well no, I need to spread it out anyway, I want to give you some… you’re my wife, I want to do it’.” Katie went on: “This isn’t about the money but it adds to it.” She added: “I love him but who is he? I loved the man I met, but I just can’t take it. I’m not stupid, well obviously, I was stupid to fall for him.” Katie also said Lee's exes had "warned" her about him, adding: "I've read stuff, I've taken it on board." She continued: "It's come to the point where I have found out stuff myself, not by anyone else, to be like, yeah this is a joke." "I feel embarrassed, I feel like he's scammed my heart and stole my trust, and me defending a man constantly because he made me believe, 'You know I'm not like this,' if you can lie about things like that to me when I've constantly said to him, I don't care if you don't have money, I've fallen in love with you as a man... just don't lie to me," she said. She added: "Everyone has been right, but I had to find out myself because I'm the one who has met him, I'm the one who spent time with him, and it is so believable." She finished the interview by saying she has realised that she's now enjoying being single. She said: "I've loved being on my own in my own space without a man in my pocket, and I'm not sitting here like in previous relationships, heartbroken. I'm sitting here with a smile on my face because, in a way, he's done me a favour to make me realise." She added: "It's a shame it's come to an end because I can't let this drag on, I won't let it drag on. If only he was honest with me. That's all I ask." Katie has previously been married three times including to Peter Andre , and before Lee was in a relationship with Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater. After meeting Lee and hearing the backlash against him, she defended him at the time against critics and claims about his past. She previously claimed: "I can reassure everyone at home that I haven't gone for a con man. I haven't gone for a scammer. There was no love bombing." Lee was invited to Good Morning Britain in May, in what would have been his and Katie’s first TV interview together. However, he apparently “missed his flight”, with Katie insisting at the time that she was “happy” and that their relationship was going well. Susanna had shared her concerns, saying: "You wear your heart on your sleeve, but I wonder if he's telling you everything. Do you trust him?" she added: "All that anyone hopes, Katie, is that you are happy." Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
