Stripe's profits surge four-fold to over €390m
In this news:
The $6.79bn (€5.98bn) in revenues translate to average weekly revenues of $130.63m for 2025.
In a post-balance sheet event, the directors disclose that the firm paid dividends of $467.2m to immediate US parent Stripe Laboratories Inc in May of this year.
The $467.2m dividend compares to a dividend of $9m paid in 2025.
This year, Forbes estimated that Patrick and John Collison each have a net worth of $17.5bn — up from $10.1bn one year ago.
Founded in 2010 by the brothers, Stripe was first declared a "unicorn" — a privately-owned company that is valued at more than $1bn — in 2014.
In February, Stripe Inc was valued at $159bn in an employee tender offer — up from $91.5bn a year earlier.
SPIHL is the holding company for Stripe sales in the European Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, along with the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
Revenues boosted
Revenues were boosted in 2025 by Stripe announcing new or expanded partnerships with Currys, Mercari, Zip, Volkswagen, and Gradium.
The likes of OpenAI and Anthropic are building on its platform, while the share of Stripe’s revenue from AI and crypto companies has more than doubled year-over-year this year.
SPIHL continued to expand rapidly in 2025, with staff numbers rising by 646, from 2,208 to 2,854, employed across the EMEA and APAC regions.
Staff costs increased by 21% from $503.3m to $607.89m, and this included share-based payments of $149.5m.
The cost of 'wages and salaries' totalled $404.68m, which translates to an average salary of $141,795 for 2025.
The unit also incurred a corporation tax charge of $46.88m, resulting in post-tax profit of $398.69m.
The directors describe Stripe as an “Irish-American financial infrastructure platform for businesses”.
They state that "turnover and the associated cost of sales and administrative expenses have increased due to growth in business from existing users and an increase in user adoption in existing markets”.
Expenses increase
Last year, cost of sales increased 26% to $5.29bn, and administrative expenses increased 21% to $1.23bn. Both grew more slowly than revenue, reflecting continued operating efficiency and improving unit economics.
Stripe is headquartered in San Francisco and Dublin.
In their annual letter for 2025, the Collison brothers stated that “last year, businesses running on Stripe generated $1.9 trillion in total volume, up 34% from 2024”.
The profit for SPIHL last year takes account of combined non-cash depreciation and amortisation costs of $66.35m, along with a foreign exchange loss of $71.73m.
At the end of December last, SPIHL had shareholder funds of $1.52bn, and its cash funds decreased from $892.5m to $886.48m.
